How do upgrades work with Verizon?

I would like to trade upgrades with my sister because I want a new phone now and my upgrade isn't for another few months. However, my sister is concerned that because she has an iphone 4 and I have a Samsung Stratosphere she won't get the same benefits with my upgrade that I would be getting with hers. In other words do you get a better upgrade when you have a better phone? Or are all upgrades the same in price no matter which device you're upgrading from? Please answer soon, thank you.

You get better upgrades based on the phone you have. For example, my father is the primary account holder and gets phone upgrades every year or so due to our all iPhone family plan.

An upgrade is an upgrade. The pricing will be the same.

The other answer is wring. Verizon hasn't done yearly upgrades in three years and whether it was an early upgrade or not, an upgrade is still an upgrade.

  • Will any Verizon SIM card work in an Verizon iPhone 4S? I had recently acquired an iPhone 4S from an old friend. I was wondering if I could buy a cheap Verizon phone with a pay as you go plan, and remove the SIM from the cheap phone, cut it down to a Micro-SIM, and place it in my new iPhone.

My boss gave me the droid and its an older one, It has about a 3in screen with a keyboard but it is a smart phone. I'm on unlimited minutes and texts and 6g of data. My phone is called a Droid Pro
  • How do upgrades on cell phones work? I have a iPhone 6. Last week, I accidentally dropped my phone in the toilet. It is probably dead. I have to use a replacement iPhone. My carrier/ISP is Sprint. I'm 20. Can you explain to me how cell phone upgrades work?
  • Starting a new At&t contract and upgrades? Right now I'm under my parents att account, but me and my wife want to open our own account. I know when you open a new account you can buy subsidized phones. Now my wife and I already have iPhone 5s - we don't need new phones. So if we start a new account with att, when will our next upgrade be? Will it be in two years? Or will we be eligible to upgrade whenever we want since we didn't buy new phones when we open our account?
