How to correctly sync your iPod or iPhone into a Ford Escape 2009 to play music?

I try plugging it in with a USB cable and I push in AUX and it syncs but when I go to my music app, all it says is "Device is connected" and won't allow me to access my music. I have a black chord that I plug into another input that works with AUX that's allows my iPod to play music and gives me access to my music app. Why will only the one chord work and not my USB chord? The black chord doesn't require a sync though.

Have you updated the ios on your ipod or iphone? I think the old ios had it so that when you connected a usb cord, it would only charge and not let yiu listen to music.

  • New itunes won't sync music correctly? I downloaded the latest version of itunes and i see a lot has changed with appearance. Anyways I have a iphone 3g that i use as my ipod, and have never had problems syncing music too. When i clicked sync on the new itunes it says that it is syncing but when i check my iphone, the newer songs aren;t on there. Then i deleted some songs but when I synced they were still on the iphone after the sync. I don't understand why this is happening can someone please help me out?
  • Iphone 4s music won't sync correctly? I have downloaded all of my music onto my iphone 4s and it was working perfectly. I recently downloaded the iOS 6.0.1 and now whenever i put new music on it, the names of the songs are shaded grey on the songs list on my phone and they won't play. Any ideas?
  • I lost contacts on my iPhone 4s after syncing with MS Sync in my new Ford? Recently bought a 2010 Ford Fusion with MS Sync, I upgraded the Sync software last night, and then synced my contacts with the car, now the contacts are gone from my iPhone 4s. I saw them successfully on the car's phone contact list. Coincidence, or an issue?
  • I have a ford fiesta zetec (2009) and my hazard lights have stopped working? I have also lost the bluetooth symbol on my radio with no option to turn it back on, and my iphone can't find my radio. This all happened over the last week when I had a new head light bulb fitted. Can anyone help please?
