How long should my Iphone 4S battery last?

I just got my Iphone 4S two days ago and I'll charge it so it's at 100%, but as soon as I take it off the charger it seems that it drops 1% a minute. I don't use it that much during the day (because of school)and I make sure to exit out of all of my apps when I'm not using them. Is this a battery issue. Or how should I go about trying to spare my battery life?

This is an all too common issue with all smartphones no matter what the operating system is. There are several ways you can spare battery life with the iPhone; always close out of your apps completely when you're finished, don't keep browser windows open in Safari when you're not reading them, try to use Wi-Fi in All places (if all else fails, use your 3G), don't take a lot of pics all at once unless it's 100% needed, don't watch a lot of YouTube or Netflix videos, when you call someone try to set a time limit and try not to go over the one hour phone convo mark… I mean, I could literally keep going but unfortunately the iPhone 4S has one of the smallest batteries in the entire smartphone world. If you compare it's (roughly) 1,700mAh battery to something like my HTC One M8's 2,600mAh battery, there's a pretty noticeable difference. If you're planning on keeping the phone for a good while, I would invest in a Mofi Juice Pack. It's a great case! From 100 to droping 99 percent its normal, it happens with all the phones. But you should be able to use all day just fine with minimal usages.

I depends on how many background apps you have running, which could really eat up your battery.
