How long to soak my Iphone in rice?
I dropped my IPhone in the bath. The water was only a half an inch deep in the middle and the rest of the tub wasn't filled it fell in and slid it the part where it wasn't in the water. I quickly picked it up fast and dried it with my towel. This was last night. I've since had it soaking in a rice bag, turned off. I've noticed though that before I turned it off and soaked it that the only real thing id noticed wrong was that the speaker was not working. The headphones worked but the speaker on my pho ne didn't. Yes I know that one isn't supposed to work as a speaker and that ones a mic and the others the speaker but the speaker wouldn't work, I need my phone to tell my parents when i'm awake. Soon they'll be texting my phone that's turned off and freak out because i'm not answering. I'm afraid to tell them what happened because I know they'll be upset. But is it safe to take it out and use it now? It soaked all night without the case last night. Help! And I never usually have it in the tub with me. Ever. I usually leave it under the towel on the counter. I don't leave it in my room because my parents and I kind of argue because I take a long shower apparently. Please help me. I really need it.
Added (1). I didn't remove battery because I can't. I don't really want to risk destroying my phone either.
Take it to a repair store and have it professionally cleaned and also probably get a new speaker. I actually just repaired the same issue 5 minutes ago for a customer. Cost him $80
Doesn't matter if it has a removable battery or not. The damage is done by testing the phone after it's been in the water to see if it works; you're energizing areas of the circuit board that are soaked in water. Not good.
For next time: If you drop it in the water, do NOT test it to see if anything happened. Turn it off immediately (if it was on), shake out as much water as you can and stick it into a bag of dry rice.
I would leave 3 to 4 days. If damage was done it won't matter because rice doesn't reverse damage
- How long will it take for the rice to soak up the wet iphone? There's a blue line on top of the screen of the phone, so i'm guessing that's water? So like how long should i have the phone in the rice.right now it's been an hour. And by the way i already turned it on so the battery will die right? And once how long it takes for the water to soak up from the rice? Charge it and then see if it works?
- How long should I leave my wet iphone in rice? I was pouring milk into my cereal bowl this morning, and the milk container ended up pouring all on my iphone 4S. When it got wet, it wasn't completely soaked, but it's not like it was just a splash of milk either. I think the milk managed to get in some of the cracks. I really don't think it is as bad as an iphone being dropped in water completely, so I'm thinking that I don't need to keep it in rice for as long. How long should I keep it in the rice?
- How long should i leave my iphone in rice? I dropped in a sink full of water and now i'm worried its gone forever Also it is a iPhone for and i'm very nervous that i have forever broke it. So should i keep it in there over a day? Four*
- How long should I leave my iphone in rice for? (water damage)? So I dropped my phone in water today, it was only in there for about 5 or ten seconds before I took it out. The screen started flickering and turned off. About an hour and a half later when I got home I put it in rice. How long should I leave it there for?
