How long would 250 mb of data last me?

I want to get an iphone 5 but the cheapest plan for it would be $70 a month but it only has 250 mb of data. I have NO idea how much that is or how long it would last me. I would really only be using it for imessage, twitter, and instagram, and very very rarely (Like once a month) facebook, snapchat, checking email and weheartit (for a couple minutes). Everything else I would use with Wi-Fi only. And when I'm at home I would be using only Wi-Fi. I would really only be using the data when i'm out of the house and sometimes at school.

I would mostly only be using it for imessage and twitter. Would 250 mb be enough for me? How long would it last? Any and All help would really be appreciated, thanks for your help! <3

Added (1). I would be on twitter for maybe an hour or 2 throughout the day but I wouldn't be uploading pictures on instagram a lot only looking and I wouldnt really be using snap chat a lot either lol.

It really depends on how much you use instagram or twitter or whatever else you want to use that takes up data. Instagram and snapchat take up a lot of data because you are uploading pictures, but twitter and facebook shouldn't use too much data. If you don't plan on using it extremely frequently, I think you should be fine.

I had the same problem. Just upgraded to an iPhone 5s on Bell, and went with 1 GB of data. If you use data for iMessage, email, or other instant messaging, it would probably last a month. Even with Twitter, it may last, as it's primarily a text based service. Apps like Instagram use up a lot of data, because it downloads images automatically when you browse your feed. Now with people uploading videos, a lot more data will be used and you would most probably use over 250 MB. If you will use Instagram over Wi-Fi you should be ok. Just be aware that modern smartphones do sync data in the background so sometimes, without you being aware, data is being used for push notifications and syncing services. You may be surprised more data is being consumed than you actually use.

It's a bit of a pain in Canada, as the plans charge so much for unlimited calls and texts and give you so little data. I would rather have limited minutes and a lot more data in my opinion.
