How many tried do you get before iPhone locks you out for 60 minutes?

My iPhone was sitting on the table in front of TV that my brother and I use. I went out to get it tonight picked it up. Whoops, wrong password that's the one for my ipad WHAT LOCKED FOR 60 MINUTES?! How many tries do you get before it locks for that long? I think you get way too many tries for it to be a oh wait that's not my phone kinda deal and mine is white his is black. I want to ask him if it was him what should I say? And how many tries do you get?

  • My iphone always locks itself? So its like the lock button always gets presses down or it got pressed down and won't go back up. I woke up this morning and my phone was on the ground and my cup of water spilled all over the floor and some water got on my phone if that helps anything. And i just got ios7 last night if that says anything either.
