How many volts and amps to charge 12 volt battery?

I have a 12v 165amp Lead-acid battery. How much volts and amperes do i need to charge the battery in 9 to 11 hours? Also the battery is almost 15 months old and it is also connected with an inverter.

Overcharging a lead-acid battery is a good way to burn your parent's house down or spray yourself with strong acid. If it's connected to an inverter you really should have a deep cycle battery. They're meant to be drawn down and then re-charged. Set a portable battery charger to 12 volts, 10 amps and charge the battery for 6 hours. I use a 2amp charger to charge a motorcycle (small) battery and a 6 amp charger to charge larger car and truck batteries when they are new or have completely discharged.

However, if you are using an inverter, then your battery will discharge faster than a trickle charger can make up the charge. The larger 2 amp charger overnight should be sufficient.
