How much an iphone costs, and what to expect?

So I'm hoping to get an iphone sometime in the near future. First of all I want to ask how much does a good one cost? I understand they cost about $350-$450, but I just wanted to check. I also want to know what all can you do on them? Can you get apps? Can you listen to music? And can you call people, and if so, how do you do that and do you need anything additional to do so? Also, what is the difference between an iphone 5, 6, etc?

Of course your can do all that.

"much does a good one cost?"

That would depend on the model, which also requires a real idea of what you mean by "good".

"I understand they cost about $350-$450"

Actually they cost way more than that if you buy w/o a contract. If you buy with a contract you will have to pay for a data plan which will add hundreds of dollars extra to your bill by the end of the year.

" I also want to know what all can you do on them?"

Funny you should ask that question. I've heard tell of Apple having a website that actually answered those questions…

http://store.apple.com/.../us/iphone

"can you call people"

It's a phone.

"how do you do that"

knowing how to use a phone helps.

"do you need anything additional to do so?"

You need to sign up with a carrier - like any cellphone.

"what is the difference between an iphone 5, 6,"

There's no iPhone 6.

The features of existing iPhones - and the differences between them - can be found on any number of tech websites, including everymac.

On contract - $199, 299, 399
Off contract - $599, 699, 799
Unlocked - $649, 749, 849
Used - you'd have to check sites like eBay & of course would differ depending on which model

Apps - of course (practically invented that with the App Store)
Music - of course, iTunes
Calls - of course, it is a phone

As far as the differences, check http://apple.com/...com/iphone The models available are the 4s, 5c & 5s.
