How much data should i get? Verizon share plan?
I'm thinking of getting the verizon share everything plan. There will be three phones (one basic phone for my dad, an iphone for me, and an iphone for my sister) my dad won't use data much but me and my sister will be using it for stuff like email, twitter, instagram, facebook, safari, youtube, etc (just regular entertainment stuff) how much data should i get so we don't go over? And to save data, whenvever we're at home we could just use our Wi-Fi? 4GB, 12GB?
For 3 people i'd say 12gb rather than 4gb, Youtube can eat up a lot of data especially on 4g network. If you went with the 4 gb you would really need to keep an eye on your Verizon account and make sure you're not going over… Honestly you probably could manage with 4 gigs if you just saved Youtube for Wi-Fi.
You should be perfectly fine with 4 because of the basic things you do. And if you both always use your Wi-Fi when at home, you should have way more then you need left. But just to check, log on your verizon account, and it should say how much data you each use, make sure you change it to GB. All in all, if you get 4GB your bill will be 180$ a month plus tax.
And to the guy above, iPhones do not have 4G.

- With Verizon, can two iphones share a data package of 2GB? I have an iphone right now and it costs $30 for 2 GB of data a month. My mom wants to get rid of her basic keyboard phone and upgrade to an iPhone. But she doesn't want to pay an addtional $30 for her 2 GB of data. Is it possible for her to just use some of my data and join my 2 GB plan?

Does it use up data to have multiple internet browsers open even though I only look at one at a time? Is it possible to use up data when the phone is off? Also, is taking a picture, playing app games, listening to music, and siri considered to be "data" on the data plan? Is there an overall explanation for what a data plan is?
