How much do Iphone or smartphone plans typically cost in japan?
I'm moving to japan in june and I definitely need a smartphone when I get out there. I won't be talking much on it. I'm more concerned about the data plan costs and less concerned about the amount of minutes used to call people.

It's usually 6000-8000 yen per month without fee to make calls. And you have to pay more if you make a call and talk.
As an iPhone 4s user with au as my service provider, I pay around 6000 yen a month for unlimited internet and a basic package. You can download the app "LINE" which probably 1 out of every 3 phone addicts use here for free texting and voice calls.
- Which do you recommend? Iphone 5s Smart Plans or Iphone 5s Globe Plans? I'm confused. I've heard a lot of negative comments about globe internet speed and secret extra charges. But it seems that there are more recommendations to go for globe iphone plans. What's wrong with Smart? Which is more advisable for first timers in mobile plans?
- When do people typically receive the new iPhone if they preordered it through a carrier? I ordered my new 64 GB 6s Plus in Rose Gold through the verizon site at midnight, but I wasn't prepared so I'd say it took until about 10 after midnight to actually get the order processed and finished. I know this could make a difference as to when I receive my iPhone, especially since this model will be one of the most popular. How long do people typically have wait until they receive their phone in the mail?
- How much will the monthly service cost for the new iPhone 5 cost? My parents are planning on getting me the new iPhone 5 for my birthday late this September. However they are concerned about the monthly data plan price. 1. What is the expected monthly data service cost? 2. Will users have the option to choose 4g or this new LTE plan? Not the cost of the actually iPhone 5, just the monthly service plan I currently have a 3g data plan for my android, will the plan price go up with iPhone 5 and LTE?
- How much is iPhone 5 in Japan? I bought Iphone 4s couple mouths ago and I was wounding if I can switch my phone to iPhone 5 even though haven't passed 2 Years. Would it coast lot?
