How much does it cost to replace an iphone 3GS screen?
I dropped my iPhone 3GS today and the screen shattered. I do not have it under warranty, it was a hand-me-down phone. Where could I go to replace it and how much would it cost me?
I cracked my iPod screen last week and I just went to the apple store to fix it but you have to make a reservation online first. Mine is a 4th generation and I believe it is under warranty but they gave me a whole new one for 99$ so pretty good deal. First you have to update and back it up on your computer and then I don't remember because my brother did it for me. Sorry but hope I helped atleast a little. You could try calling them too.
Apple has out of warranty options. You would have to pay $149 to replace the phone in itself. They won't replace only the screen.
In fact, the screen is a expensive accessory of the iphone, so that replacing is much expensive. In general, it is about $100, you can change a common one. If you want a better one, you should pay much.
You can effectively fix it yourself if you have basic knowledge. If not, look or a family member. On eBay you can search "iPhone 3GS screen" and find the tools required, along with a new screen for $10(shipped). Then go to youtube, and watch video's on how to replace it. It wouldn't take more than 45 minutes, even being your first time.
