How much is it to upgrade to an iPhone 5?

I asked this question before but i didn't really get the answers i was looking for.haha.

I currently have a blackberry curve and I'm with Virgin Mobile. My monthly plan is $35 for unlimited texting and bbm, and calling after 5 and on weekends. I just got my first job (I'm 15) and I really would like an iPhone 5.

For a monthly plan I looking to pay no more than $55 if that is possible. So what would my monthly plan options be? Also I'm with virgin mobile but they sometimes rip me off with my bill. So what phone company's won't? And I don't want to go over any data so what phone company's let you know that you have no more data left?

Usually the upgrade price is the same as the price you'll see advertised everywhere, typically that's $99 or $199 for a smartphone.

Of course, that's not the real full price, rather it's a discounted price that you only get if you agree to a new 2 year contract (and upgrading renews your contract, so that's basically the same thing).

The real price is going to be more like $600, maybe more.

I don't live in Canada so I don't know which companies are best there. But yes, I'm pretty sure that they warn you before you go over your data; I know they do that in the USA.

I think it depends on the phone company. I have AT&T and was not actually due for an upgrade when i got the iphone 5 in december. However, i had the iphone 3 for like a year and a half and got a discount when i upgraded to a newer iphone. I paid like around $400 with a trade in (they gave me $50 for my iphone 3). But I think with AT&T if you are actually due for a full upgrade, then the iphone 5 is $200. I have been on my own plan since September 2011 and have always paid about $110 for myself and then when my younger sister got on my plan (it's just the two of us now) it changed to $168.70 (she has the iphone 4). I have unlimited texting and a 2g data plan with the lowest amount of calling minutes possible and it's still that much money. I would personally check with Virgin Mobile though because the pricing may be different than AT&T's. Good Luck!
-Also, AT&T will send you a message letting you know when you are nearing the end of your available data.
