How much longer until Apple cuts off updates for the iPhone 4/4s?

I got a iPhone 4 on Christmas of 2013. And since the 4 & 4s are pretty old, when will they cut off updates for iOS?

I'm not sure that they will. Most newer I phones, and I mean 4+ get all the IOS updates as they roll out. I've only owned the standard 5's, so i can't speak for the older versions, but I know the 4 and 4s still get all the updates I do.

BTW, don't buy a 5, they blow. Massive switch and button related issues that Apple refuses to acknowledge.

To be honest, I plan on downgrading my 5 to a 4s because of the mentioned issues, and because the Wi-Fi radio is about 50% stronger in a 4-4s than the 5.

Btw. The 5's have been discontinued. They were replaced with the 5c and etc. Maybe Apple realized their flaws? It's all up there in question-ville.

That would only happen when the hardware is too outdated for the OS. (Thats why 3GS no longer supported iOS 7, 3GS was a great phone but the hardware couldn't handle it.)

I expect the 4 to be cut off at whatever ends up being the last iOS 7 update. The 4s should go on until whatever ends up being the last iOS 8 update

I have a personal hotspot or (personal tethering) on my iphone and when ever someone calls me i get signed out of everything that was connected to my phone. I have Verizon wireless. Is there any way to put be able to use the internet on your phone while in a call.
  • Iphone cuts off? How to Fix? A couple days ago i dropped my Iphone in some water i did the whole rice thing and plugged it up it came on. Then it asked me to connect to itunes for IOS6 but everytime i unplug it in it cuts off and when i try to put it into my computer the apple logo come on and then the phone shuts off. Anything i can do that will get my phone working properly again?

The flash will cut on sometimes but not all the time it just blinks on and back off… Flashlight won't turn on at all on the phone itself but when I downloaded a flashlight app it works on the app?! I'm not understanding. I can't even see my flash when it does flash
