How to activate a new iPhone using a new sim card, while keeping the same phone number?

I inserted a new sim card and set up my new phone with no problems, but I'm not able to send or receive phone calls or texts?

That is something you would need to talk to your carrier about. Often times, they'll need to deactivate the old SIM card and assign your account to the new card.

Call your provider through the *611

Your service provider has to do that.

Go to one of its local stores.

The SIM card would have to have the same number assigned to it. Your carrier should be able to handle that part no problem.

Why don't you put your old sim card in the new phone that's the normal way of doing it

  • Will using an Unofficial sim card activate iphone 4? So my iphone 4 doesn't have a data plan on it, so i'm just using it to play games and stuff. But then i had a restart loop, so i had no choice but to restore. Now i have to activate the phone, but nothing seems to work(redsnow). Can you activate an iphone 4 (6.0.1) with a sim card that doesn't have a data plan on it?
  • Switching cell phone carriers while keeping same iPhone? Can I keep my iPhone and switch carriers w/out getting a different phone & also (if possible) w/out jail-breaking my current one. I ask this because the box on my iPhone doesn't mention any particular provider. • Is this fixable? And if it is can I use it while keeping my current contract? I have an iPhone 4th gen and I was wondering If I could switch to my brothers old iPhone 5s. I'm not sure if it's fixable though. The home button fell off and the screen is in horrible condition. A rough estimate of how much it would cost would be great too.
