How to activate a second hand AT&T iphone 4s with Tmobile?

So I bought a used Iphone 4s on ebay. I got it today and it said I need to activate it. I have Tmobile as a carrier so I don't have an AT&T account nor AT&T sim card.
How do I activate the iphone? I just want to activate it so I can factory unlocked it.

Should I go to the AT&T store and ask for a sim card even though I'm not a customer? Can anyone give me some advice?

Your either going to have to go online and look up a unlock code for a iphone 4s and get the code. (they are usually about $20-40 for the code) or your going to have to go to t-mobile or somewhere and they are going to have to unlock it for you. Hope i helped.
