How to add my iPhone number to iMessage on iPod touch?
I have an iPhone 5 that is currently registered to iMessage with my phone number. I also have an iPod touch 4th gen. I saw on the apple website that I can hook my iPhone's number onto my iPod. I tried going into settings> messages> send &receive and my phone number showed up. So i tapped on it and it connected. But a second later, it logged me out of iMessage and made me log in again with my Apple ID. So i did, but it unhooked my phone number from being able to send & receive messages from. I tried logging in and out of imessage again, and then turning imessage on and off but nothing seems to be working.
You can't, ipods are not phones so email address only can be used on that for messaging.
- Why is my iPod touch using my iPhone's phone number for iMessage? I don't know why it started doing it but my iPod says it's using my email and phone number on iMessage but I don't get why or how that's even possible. Please explain this.
- Should I buy an ipod touch 5th gen.or buy an iphone 5 and use it as an ipod? I was wondering what would be better to have an ipod or to have an iphone 5 and use it as an ipod, but is it worth spending more money for the iphone 5 to use as an ipod. I currently have an ipod touch 4g, o and by the way i would like either the ipod 5g in 64gb or the iphone 5 in 64gb.
- IPhone can't send iMessage to iPod touch user with iMessage? At random times, whenever I try to iMessage my friend who has just a iPod Touch, where you type in the message will say "Text Message" instead of "iMessage." is there a way to fix this so it will always send as a iMessage instead of Text?
- IPhone 5 vs iPod Touch 5 (latest iPod touch)? Which is more worth it? I had the iPod touch 4 and I really loved it! But I sold it a few months ago to save up for an iPhone but now that the iPhone 5 is here and there's a new iPod touch, I'm confused. Which one should I get? For the android fans out there, don't recommend me to buy android, I'm sick of it.
