How to amplify sound on my ceiling speakers?

I have speakers built in my ceiling for my projector set up. Problem is my ceiling speakers are all the way at the front where the image gets projected on the wall, and my seats are at the opposite end of the room. ( Yes, I did not really think this through when installing this) How do I get to hear the sound better without actually moving the speakers? Isn't there a thing that amplifies it like for the iphone, which it lookc like a mini scoop?

Speakers like that require a strong amp like a home theater receiver. This is an example: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_033AV1513/Denon-AVR-1513.html
They do have iPhone adapters, but on affordable models like the one above, it's an extra cost option.

Any speakers has to be amplified by a power amplifier. Stand alone power amplifier are mainly left to the nigher end of the audio. Most consumers use a receiver to power a speaker (a receiver consist of a power amplifier, pre amplifier and an AM/FM tuner). Depending on the type of speakers you installed in the ceiling will determine how much power you need. Your best choice would be to purchase a receiver and an adapter for your iphone to connect to the receiver. Hope this will help you out.

Call in a professional that knows what he or she is doing.

You have given us zero technical information about your speakers or what you have them connected to. Then you toss in iPhone and "mini scoop"?

(sigh)

Look - speakers are MOTORS. Then need power to make sound. An amplifier is used for this. What do you have that amplifies your sound (some device with a volume control)?

You did the right thing mounting speakers near the wall for surround sound. But we need more details to help you.

  • What's the best app to download to amplify sound? I'm hard of hearing but not so much that I have a hearing aid. I'll be going back to college soon and would like to know if there's a good cheap or free app for the iphone that I can download to help me hear my instructors. All I've found so far are hearing test apps.
