How to change an IP Address?
My school has blocked my IP address- it's a long story- and I need to change it to get back onto the Wi-Fi. Someone please tell me how to change it on my MacBook Pro and iPhone 5?
If you're blocked from the school Wi-Fi, it's probably your MAC address that they blocked. You can't change that on a phone without rooting it.
They can't block Ip addresses, its MAC address which is blocked. You can change your Mac address by typing this command in terminal "sudo ifconfig en1 ether 00: e2:e3:e4:e5:e6" without the quotes.remember you have type this command everytime you restart you computer. Hope that helped.
It's not that they blocked your IP, that's issued by DHCP from whatever you connect to. They blocked your MAC address (not as in a Mac computer). The MAC address uniquely identifies your computer and that's what's blocked.
You don't have a choice. Your IP is controlled outside of anything you can do.
