How to change iPhone texts back to iMessage?

Yesterday, I had my data usage turned off on my iPhone 4s, so naturally, I expected it to send text messages instead of iMessages to my friends with iPhones. However, when I turned my data back on, it still didn't change back from text message to iMessage. Both my and their iMessage is turned on, and we can both send iMessages to other people. How do I get it to change back?

Added (1). I've already tried turning it off and back on and it did not work.

Turn imsg off and back on to see if that fixes it.

  • Will my texts come back if I back up and restore my iPhone? My iPhone 5s keeps saying I don't have enough storage but I've deleted so much I have a total of only 3 apps I downloaded and 130 pictures. My apps keep force closing so I've decided I should just back up and restore my phone on iTunes but will my texts come back? I've deleted most of my texts too there's just some I want to still have
  • Why does my iPhone sometimes send texts to other iPhones as iMessages then regular texts to iPhones? Like when I send a text to my friend that has an iphone, it usually sends as an iMessage then it will randomly send as just a regular text and it will be green and not blue.
  • Stop iMessage from opening texts automatically on iphone? Is there a jailbreak tweak that can disable iMessage from opening texts that you have not read automatically? It is really annoying when I open iMessage and I only have one message and it automatically opens the message. Especially since I have read receipts on. Sometimes I do not want to read them yet!
  • Just lost my texts and now i can't send texts? I'm on a tarrif where i get unlimited text 150 mins and 250mb of data (Vodafone) and i was texting my mother and all of a sudden my texts wouldnt send and then my network went it came up no service on my phone ( i'm using an iphone 3gs i don't care about what phone i have as long as i have one lol ) then my network came back on and i have my internet and my calls but don't have my texts can anyone help me to sort this out
