How to check for MMS messages without turning on data? (iPhone)?
I have a limited amount of data, so I try to keep it off when I'm not using it. Of course, this means that when a friend sends me a picture message, I won't get it until I turn on my data, sometimes weeks later. Is there some way to set up a notification saying that "hey, you have a message coming in. Turn on your data" or something to that effect? I feel bad when I just ignore my friends, but I don't have the data to waste.
Nope. Because SMS does not use data, but MMS does. So the only way to know that an MMS is on the way, is to have data on, or have the person sending the message, to also send you an SMS (to your phone number), to alert you to the fact that a picture messages is on the way.
Or make sure you're phone is on Wi-Fi as much as possible during the day when you are someplace that offers free Wi-Fi.
- Why is my iPhone 5 turning off and not turning back on? This has happened twice now. My iPhone 5 has turned off in the middle of the night with a full charge and off the charger, and when I try to turn it back on it takes a couple tries. Has anybody experienced this?
- My iPhone 4 won't send MMS messages? I just recently got my iPhone 4 last month, so it has the most up to date iOS (5.1.1), however, it doesn't send Multimedia messages (pictures, recordings, and video). It has the camera icon to send them, but when the messages are in the process of being sent, it stops prematurely and says that the file could not be sent. I tried looking for answers to this question elsewhere, but this is the only case I've heard of. Any help is appreciated.
