How to clean white rubber iPhone case?

I have a pink and white otterbox that is getting kind of dingy looking. It's a commuter series. Can anyone help me clean it?

I use rubbing alcohol and q-tips.

Here is what you can do: First, remove the dirty outer rubber section that you want to clean. Fill a mixing bowl with warm water well-mixed with a couple drops of mild dish detergent. Fully submerse the rubber piece into the water, and begin to vigorously massage it with your fingers, cleaning all the nooks and crannies. This will clean all the dirt, but MIGHT not get enough of the dinginess out of the rubber to get it's nice arctic white look back. So…

You then empty and rinse the bowl out, and give the rubber piece a good rinse under running water. Now, make a mixture in the same bowl of 1/2 cup liquid bleach (such as Clorox, etc.) and dilute it by filling the bowl with warm water. Drop your rubber piece into the bow, and if it does not stay submerged you might have to weight it down with something - I use a coffee mug. Let it soak overnight (I do this at night so that when I leave in the morning my phone is again fully protected)…

In the morning, empty the bowl and give your rubber piece a really good rinse - you will see it is bright and white once again as before. Just make sure to rinse off the bleach water very well. Now, towel dry with a lint-free cloth and make sure you dry the outside and inside edges very well. Place the rubber back onto the polycarbonate case of your Otterbox, and you are good to go! I hope you enjoy your clean Otterbox!

If it doesn't work, you can pick a new one from case2case.net.

  • What is the tightest fitting rubber iPhone 4 case? Every rubber case I've tried or checked out on other people's phones just sucks. They are way too loose. I'm looking for a rubberish iPhone 4 case that is extremely difficult to stretch fit around the 4 so that it's extremely tight. Has anyone seen anything like this? Please don't recommend any 'Griffin' products.
