How to completely silence iPhone 3GS (broken switch)?

Basically, the switch on the side of my iPhone is broken so I can't switch between normal and silent, I can turn down the ringer volume but ill be using my phone at school (during lessons) and don't want it to be heard so is there a way of completely silencing it? Maybe an app or something?

This is the exact problem that happened to me and this is what i did before i repaired it.

When i was in lessons, i put my phone on airplane mode. Hope this helped: D!

  • Rubber over my silence button on my lifeproof case is loose, is it still water proof? So it's served me well all this time ( I have the iPhone 5c) one day I was silencing it and the rubber above the switch came loose and underneath I can see sort of a black switch cover and the rubber is pealing, is it still water proof (I'm sure not) but how can I redeem any sort of warranty I can redeem (it's been about 3 months since I got it) and if so how do I redeem it? Real help is appreciated, not assumptions thank you!
  • Silence on pebble smartwatch? I'm thinking about getting a pebble smartwatch, mainly because they are really cool but also because it would help out in my daily life. The one thing I can't seem to find anywhere though, is if it has a silence option. (I have an iPhone 5s) I know the watch vibrates when you have a call or text, but if I'm in class would my teachers be able to hear the vibration, or is it pretty subtle? If there was a silence option that would be great.
  • Need to silence email alert on iPhone 4? I go to settings>email>none (for no sound) and it still makes noise. No matter what I do to silence the email part it still alerts me. I need to hear me phone during the night so when my friend goes into labor I have to watch her other kids. Everyone has tried to help me w this but my bro says I should just do a restore but that means getting rid of 2, 000 photos which will be a pain. Any thoughts?
  • My IPhone works completely fine sometimes but a lot of times I can't use it and it's completely unresponsive to my touch? I scheduled an appointment to fix my very cracked screen and I was just wondering if this will fix my problem for sure or is there something else that may be causeing the screen to be unresponsive?
