I'm not bragging but I have a 2017 Range Rover. The oldest vehicle I own is my 2015 S class Mercedes, but I will upgrade that soon. I have an iPhone too, but I have the iPhone X, I refuse to make do with obsolete technology. Good day!
A 2012 isn't 16 years old. Simple 3rd grade math. Does the head unit even have bluetooth? Check the manual.
READ the owner's manual that came with the car. It will explain how to do that, IF the car still has the factory original radio. If you have an aftermarket stereo system, all bets are off.
A 2012 cars built in bluetooth is not updated enough to work with an iphone7.
