How to connect through internet using SIM in iphone 3gs?

I'm using iphone 3gs with BSNL SIM(GSM) in India. I have net facility on my sim but i'm unable to connect through internet. My 3g and cellular data settings are turned "on". Please guide me

First sync with i-tunes
go to-->cellular-->cellular data-->on
enable 3G-->on

The disadvantage of iPhone in India is that the operators don't have the internet settings for it. So you need to do it manually. Its pretty easy:
goto settings -> general -> network -> cellular data network->In the APN type your access point name
keep your data roaming on.
and you need to restart your iPhone after doing these.
for BSNL i guess its bsnlnet

or you can google it for your region. Most probably its bsnlnet

  • Why won't my xbox 360 connect to the internet but will connect to my iphone hotspot? Ill play cod bo2 almost daily and my xbox will connect to my mobile hotspot on my iphone 4s fine, but out of no where it will lag out and disconnect me from xbox live, its not a hardware issue everything connects normally, full bars and everything the phone still lets me get on the internet, but my xbox will not, why D:?
  • Why does my iPhone still charge for Internet even when I'm not using Internet? So, I recently got a pay monthly plan with my new iPhone 4s. When i'm out and about I'm usually updating my twitter and Facebook account. But, when I'm put my phone down, 3G still says I'm using it and charging me. So do I have to turn it off when i'm finished? Or is there a much easier way?
  • MY Linksys WRT54G doesn't connect to the internet through wi-fi? The router is connected to an ADSL modem. I do have internet connection on my PC that is connected to the router via Ethernet cable, but when I connect to the same router through Wi-Fi on my iPhone or Samsung Galaxy phone it shows that they are connected but I can't access the internet. Their browsers try to open the webpages but they fail after 10-15 seconds. I did try to remove the security options from the router. It didn't help. It's set on DHCP.
  • Laptop won't connect to internet through router? I set up my new linksys n300 router and I can successfully connect to the internet through the Wi-Fi on my iphone but on my laptop, I get an exclamation point symbol. Troubleshooting the problem says its a problem with my access point but seeing as how the Wi-Fi works on my phone, I'm not sure this is the case. How can I fix this?
