How to convert a ringtone into an mp3 on the iPhone?

I want to convert a ringtone into a song without using iTunes. There must be a way of moving it to my music library?

Step 1:
Connect iPhone to Computer. Open iTunes/Select the Music Library/Right click on tune/Select Get Info/Options/
Check boxes Start Time Stop Time/Select the snid bit of the tune to be the ring tone/
Select less that 30 seconds Ring time/OK/With the tune still highlighted/Click on tab
Advanced/Select "Create AAC Version"/This will convert a file to an advanced Audio Coding
File for iTunes/The new AAC File will have the same name and appear below the original
in your Music Library/Select the AAC File in iTunes and drag it to the Desktop/Right click on the name on the desktop and change the extension.m4a to.m4r/May need to open Control Panel/Folder Options/View and uncheck"Hide extensions for known file types" to view the file extension.mp4/OK/Step 5: Delete the iTunes AAC File/Right click on the original tune/Get Info/Options/Uncheck Start Time and Stop Time to allow the tune to play in full length/OK/Step 6:Drag the renamed file (Ringtone) from the Desktop to iTunes "Library"/ The ringtone will show up in the "Ringtone" or "Tones" Folder with the Bell icon/Step 7: Sync iPhone with iTunes by selecting your phone in iTunes then select "Ringtones" or "Tones"/Check the box next to the tune you want for the ringtone(s). Click "Sync" or "Apply". Ringtone will show in iPhone.

Custom ringtone will not work with drm Protected tunes downloaded from iTunes Store before April 2009. Downloaded from other sources will work.
