How to disable links in an ebook?

Hi, I'm trying to create parental controls on an iPhone. I've enabled some basic restrictions which make it impossible to browse the internet (I disabled Safari, iTunes Store, etc). However, in the kindle app for iPhone, if you click on a hyperlink, you can access the internet from there and browse around without limits, as it has some sort of built-in browser. Is there a way to disable all hyperlinks in a kindle ebook, or is there a way to disable the browser functionality? If not kindle, then is there a way to restrict access to hyperlinks in iBooks, or disable the browser functionality? If neither, I'd consider deleting the kindle app/iBooks app on my iPhone and buying an actual kindle. If I do that, is there a way to ensure that no internet browsing can occur? I'd obviously want all my notes and highlights to sync instantaneously, yet somehow disable internet browsing on the kindle.

In a Kindle ereader, the only thing I can think of is delete any Wi-Fi settings and make sure the person doesn't know the Wi-Fi WEp/WPA2 security key for where they are.

In a new Kindle Fire color tablet, there's Freetime parental control and you can block the browser, block purchases, put a password on accessing Wi-Fi, and block some other things. And just don't install any apps that access the net themselves. Freetime shown here:

I think blocking the browser should keep links in ebooks from working since they would invoke the browser.
