How to erase all data on iPhone 4?

Added (1). Hi, recently my aunt gave me her iPhone 4. But it says it is disabled for 24,654,897 minutes. I've been looking up ways to manually erase the iPhone by just using combinations of the home button and the top button (The button to turn the device on and off), But those just seem to just shut the iPhone down. Also my aunt forgot her iTunes password too, so restoring is not an option anymore. So is there a combination of buttons on the iPhone I can use to erase all the data? Or anyway to reset?

You could have found this with a quick Google search.

From iPhone:
First, open your settings app, and navigate to general.
Next, scroll down to the bottom and tap on reset.
Finally, tap the button "Erase All Content and Settings", which is the 2nd button down from the top.

If on Computer:
So I've got my lightning cable plugged in to my iPhone and my USB cable in to the other, USB end of it plugged in to the computer. ITunes opened automatically and here in the upper right I see iPhone. It's just a button, so I click on that button. And right at the top I see the version of iOS that my phone is running and it tells me when it's going to automatically check for an update. Now I can check for an update and it's current. Right here it says, restore iPhone. So I click restore iPhone, it asks me what I want to do. Do you want to backup the settings for iPhone before restoring the software. Don't backup or backup. I'm backing up and then it takes me through the restore process, it actually downloads the most recent version of the operating system, iOS. In this case, 6.1.2, and then extracts all the software and firmware from the phone and then rewrites the operating system from the very lowest levels. Well, almost the very lowest levels. And that's about it. What you'll see is your phone shut down, boot up, shut down again, boot back up and finally you'll see those initial sound up screens, the linen background, the simple options that you had when you first set up you iPhone.

  • Will syncing my iPhone erase all of my data? My computer had a hard drive problem so they replaced my computer. I know syncing my iPhone (4s if it matters) to the computer will wipe the current music on my phone, which is fine. I just want to know if it will wipe my other data. Such as pictures, apps, things like that. I would just like to know if it does or not before I sync just so I can save my pictures and things to another place.
  • What will erase and sync erase on my iphone? I wanted to connect my iphone to a new computer but it says erase and sync, what will it erase? All of the contents or just music?
  • If you update your iPhone 4S to 6.0.1 through Wi-Fi, does it erase all your data? I have updated to 6.0 before on my laptop in iTunes, but strangely it didn't erase all my data, so I didn't have to back up. I didn't see it automatically back up during the process of updating, so I was wondering if it would erase all my iPhone data if I updated it through Wi-Fi. A few months before, when I updated to 5.1.1 it erased all my data. I'm not sure if Apple did anything to 6.0 that made it not erase my data…
  • If I erase and sync my iPhone 4 in the music library, will it erase my photos? I'm trying to add music to my iPhone 4 and when I go to sync just the music, it says 'erase and sync'. Will it delete my photos? If so, can I right click my iPhone and back it up so if it does delete my photos, I can just back it up?
