How to explain sudden influx of money?

Ok so, my father is a drug dealer and often has thousands of dollars in cash lying around. I decided to steal $500 out of a stack he had in his room. Please no lectures i realize its wrong. Now i want to spend that money on buying a new iphone, considering i don't have an upgrade and have to pay full price. Only problem is i would have to go through my mom to do that, as my phone is under her name. How am i going to explain that i now have $500 out of nowhere? If it helps, i work and get paid $121 every two weeks, but i have the money in cash, and she knows that when i get my check, i put it straight into my checking account. I feel she would get suspicious if i suddenly put all this money in my account. But anyway, any ideas as to how i could explain having $500?

The truth?

I wouldnt steal money, two wrongs don't make it right, maybe you should just ask your dad for it instead of stealing it
