How to fix an iPhone with water damage?
I found my iPhone laying in a puddle on my kitchen table and the screen is messed up and it started sizzling. What should I do? My mom is taking me to the Verizon store tomorrow.
Don't turn it on! Put in under alcohol for 2 hours. Then leave to dry for a day or 2. Then see if will turn on. You don't want to turn it on because it will short circuit. It needs to be dry. That's what the alcohol is for.
Remove the back casing from the Iphone and use an hair dryer set on warm - that should do the job. Then leave over night in a cool dry place.
Don't turn it on and don't use a hair dryer you'll damage it more! Put it in an airtight sealed bag of rice and leave over night. Mine was fine the next day. The rice sucks all the moisture out.
- Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
- Iphone submerged in water, logic board has water damage? My phone was under water for 10 sec. Atleast and in my wet pocket for about 2 minutes. Led wouldnt turn off and power / lock button didn't work… Put it in rice and two days later i charge it apple logo pops up then writing pops up above the apple logo. Will the guy taking my phone to clean it out and try to fix it need my passcode? And will my contacts, apps, photos, music, internet history still be on my phone? Like when he fixes it turns and on and stuff?
- I dropped my Iphone in water - no water damage showing on indicator? Here is the situation. I dropped my Iphone 5 in the toilet (I hadn't peed yet so all good there). Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?
- How to fix water damage on Iphone 5? I know it will probably still be screwed but any tips other then just rice? I have insurance on it so I'll probably get a new one but the deductible is $180.
