How to fix iPhone water damage?
Today I was walking through a lot of snow and had my iPhone in my back pocket and I fell in the snow and my iPhone got wet. It turns on and everything works fine except for the speakers. It works with headphones but the speakers won't play anything. I tryed blow drying it and putting a q-tip in the headphone jack and at first it started to work so I put the headphones in and listened to some music. Then I took them out and tried to play music through the speaker and it's no longer working. I tried the q-tip thing again and it still won't work. What do I do?
Put your phone in a ziplock bag of rice for a couple of hours. It should dry out your phone.
Rice takes a week.
Don't try to make it happen any faster.
- Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
- Iphone submerged in water, logic board has water damage? My phone was under water for 10 sec. Atleast and in my wet pocket for about 2 minutes. Led wouldnt turn off and power / lock button didn't work… Put it in rice and two days later i charge it apple logo pops up then writing pops up above the apple logo. Will the guy taking my phone to clean it out and try to fix it need my passcode? And will my contacts, apps, photos, music, internet history still be on my phone? Like when he fixes it turns and on and stuff?
- I dropped my Iphone in water - no water damage showing on indicator? Here is the situation. I dropped my Iphone 5 in the toilet (I hadn't peed yet so all good there). Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?
- How to fix water damage on Iphone 5? I know it will probably still be screwed but any tips other then just rice? I have insurance on it so I'll probably get a new one but the deductible is $180.
