How to free up some space on iPhone 4, 8 gigabytes?
So I've deleted all of my apps and so many pictures that I only have 350-400 pictures that mean a lot to me. But I need "at least 3.7 gigabytes to update to iOS 7" and it's at 3.1 gigabytes of free space. I just need that little bit more space! Is there a way to move all of my pictures on my iPod and then add them to my phone later?
If you've been using Photo Stream, those pictures should all be in the cloud and you could take the plunge by deleting them from your device (they'll remain online) and going on to update to iOS 7.
However, to be 100% sure that the pictures stay, connect your iPhone 4 to a computer, then (if you're on a Windows computer), find your device on the My Computer screen and go through and move the pictures onto your computer, then delete them from the device after you're all done. Not sure of the process on a Mac, but I'm sure it's roughly similar.
Hope I helped!
- Why does restoring my iphone from a backup use up so many gigabytes? I have an iphone 5 and I'm trying to restore my phone from last backup. Unfortunately, the back up is cancelled about 30 minutes in because my hard disk runs out of space. I have 10 gigs left so there should be any problem with that. I went to mobilesync folder and then to the backup folder and there's one folder there. Once you click on that folder there are thousands of files in that folder that have several modified dates on them. Basically can I just delete the old dated files?
- Why do the 400 pictures on my IPhone take up 5.9 gigabytes of memory? I have tried deleting many pictures and it only seems to clear up a little bit of memory, this just seems way to high for me.
- Why do my iPhone pictures take up so much gigabytes? I have a 32GB iPhone 5, and I'm trying to free up space on my phone, I only have 379 pictures (31 videos but they aren't long, longest video is 5 minutes) and it's used up 6.4 GB! My friends have somewhere near 800 pictures and they only use up around 1 or 2 GB. Any reason why my pictures use up so much GB? And any way I can make them use less?
- My iPhone suddenly went from having 9.4 gb of free space to 7.5 gb of free space? I didn't download any apps or anything, or record any videos or take pictures. I didn't do anything, it just all of a sudden happened today. How can I fix it? I have a 16gb iPhone 5
