To get apps for the iPhone you have two options, either using the iTunes on the computer on downloading with the "app store" on the iPhone, in both ways you will be needing an iTunes account, I personally advice you to download it straight to the iPhone so you save doing the step of sync from the computer to iPhone in order to get the apps.

First, open up the application that is called "App Store". It will be a blue square icon that has a white pencil and brush that is covering some sort of slate that is laying down. If you are still having difficulties, search online for "App Store Icon" and look for the icon that matches with the picture. Now, once you open it, you will come with a whole range of applications (a.k.a apps). It will show apps that are featured, top in the charts, and other info as well. If you already know an app that you would like to download, just click on search at the near bottom right of the open application. Next, click on the text box that says search. Type in the name of the app and click on search that is conveniently placed on your keyboard. You then can scroll left to right until you see an app that interests you. You click on it or on the the button that shows a price ( rather it be free or with money). In order to get an app, you will need an apple account (usually this is already set up when you first achieve your iPod/iPhone). It will tell you to sign or for you to type in your password. One you do so, you click done or accept or enter. It will then exit out of the app store and show the application on your screen. It may take a while for it to install onto your device. Once it does, you click on it and do whatever it does.

You need to have an Apple ID (create one if necessary), and then open the App Store on your iPhone and sign in. Then you can download apps.
