How to get free music on my iTunes on my iPhone?

I have friends who download music for free on to their iTunes and phones, and it looks like they have bought it. How can I download music on to my phone from iTunes for free?

If they are scamming the online sales outlets, then you don't want to be involved and this is not the place to ask. They will eventually get caught and the penalties are harsh! The music companies are working hard to catch and prosecute anyone stealing their stuff!

There are however many free music download sites out there. (Search by song title, artist, or simply free music downloads.) Then it's a matter of downloading the songs to your computer, and converting them to an iTunes friendly format if they aren't already. (.mp3 is the most common, followed by.aif ) There are numerous free audio file type converters available with a search if you find some oddball format.

Once they are downloaded to your computer, drop them onto the open iTunes window and they will be loaded into iTunes. Now they can be added to any of your music libraries for uploading to your iPhone. (they become part of the music library uploaded to your iPhone each time you sync.) Your phone and iTunes don't care if the music was bought, borrowed from a friend, or downloaded as free music. Any audio file dropped on the iTunes music window becomes an audio file in iTunes. Contrary to what some misinformed people say, the iPhone and iTunes do NOT need all of their music downloaded from the Apple Store, just as videos can be loaded into iTunes from any source.

There's a freeware program called Audacity that will record anything being played by your computer's sound system and save it in your choice of audio format. It is simple to capture audio from uTube music videos, or internet radio and convert it into audio for iTunes, or to copy music from music CDs for playback in your iPhone.

You can either use torrents on a computer (I would highly recommend this option. It's the quickest, safest in most situations, and most legit-looking.) or you can use sites like MP3raid and a mp3 playing app.
