I suggest you don't even think about it! I've used it on the 4s which is a little faster than the 4 itself and it's just the worst experience you'll ever feel on an iPhone you should stay in the iOS you have at the moment and just wait until you can upgrade to an newer iPhone because you obviously don't want to be out dated for the rest of your life and at the same time don't want to feel a sluggish, laggy, slow software in your phone. So in conclusion my answer is DON't UPDATE TO iOS 8 if you have an iPhone 4 or 4s.

Alright the first thing you need to do is take your iphone and put it in the washing machine then go to the apple store and get an iphone 6+ problem solved.

IOS 7 is enough to iPhone4. Upgrading to iOS 8 is just inviting troubles. If you really want to experience iOS 8, buy an iPhone 5s or 6. But some of the features in iOS 8 are specially designed for iPhone 6.

I installed in on 5 and wish I didn't. Rubbish slow performance, apps crashing, battery getting eaten in record time. No denial that Apple do it on purpose so people upgrade to the latest set. So I did upgrade and now my new iPhone 6 deformed itself because they use alluminium instead of good enough alloys.

I'm seriously not happy considering getting Galaxy Note 3.

There are ways if you have a jailbroken device it is possible to run a copy of it (requires a computer) if it is unjailbroken it's impossible to run his8 due to the chip it runs off (a3 I think) generations above the 4 including the 4s can run it as well, however if you have a 16gb phone I highly recommend you not to upgrade to ios8 due the the memory consumption only allowing you to have around 6 gb to use after update I hope this helped!
