How to get netflix to stream from an iPhone to your TV?

Last night I was laying in bed watching Netflix on my phones app. And when the episode came up, a little tv icon came up in the bottom right corner and said "play on your tv".

I tried doing it today but can't figure out how! The tv icon won't pop back up!

Last night when it popped up I had my tv on and my Dish box was on but their wasn't anything playing on tv. It was on standby or sleep mode or something.

It's a Vizio tv. Can anybody help?

If you have a Wii or play stations or X box. Download netflix on there and you can watch it. But I don't know how to use netflix by sending it to your tv.

I'm fairly sure that the play on your tv icon that came up was AirPlay. It allows you to wirelessly mirror content from you iPhone (iPod touch and iPad) to your TV. You need a reciver on your tv to do that particulary an Apple TV (retail $100)

Another option is to use a cord to connect your phone to your TV. Such as this:

You would still need an HDMI cord to connect to that adapter and your TV.

If you are going to pay $35 just for a connection cord you are better off buying a streaming stick or a streaming box.

The Chromecast is $35 and will allow you to watch Netflix. You use your smart phone as a remote.

In that price range($50) I would personally go with a Roku streaming stick because it has much more content.
