How to get zynga poker to stop sending notifications on my iPhone or iPad?

I want to post an answer that actually fixes the issue. The problem is that turning off notifications in settings doesn't stop it.

The answer that works: You have to open up the app and select settings in the upper right, and turn off the push notifications from there.
