How to hangout or tell if my crush likes me?

There's this kid, and sometimes when i go rollerskating, i see him there. We have talked a couple of times, but barely. I have a major crush on him. At the roller rink, i was leaning over the counter on my friends iphone, then i realized that he was standing near me with his 2 other friends. I looked at them, and then i backed up a little bit (just to get his attention) He started laughing and hes just like " All you gotta do is get closer". Then they started moving closer to me (on purpose). Then, before i went rollerskating, he messaged me and he said " Hey, you going rollerskating tonight?" My cousin says that, that is a sign that he likes me. But how? We never hangout, and it doesn't seem like he likes me. But i'm just confused. I seriously like this kid so much and i'm trying to do EVERYTHING i can to hangout with him. Or become more than friends. Help! What should i doo? I want to hangout with him really bad, but i know i'm never gonna get a chance to because he ALWAYS around his friends. I just don't think i fit in. How can i get him to like me?

There are a few signs you can look for to figure out if he likes you. If he pays attention to you, likes to be around you, is polite and respectful, seems to watch you when he thinks you are not looking, listens to what you have to say and is interested in it, tries to find reasons to talk to you and to be around you even when he doesn't need to be around you, does not expect anything from you in terms of favors, makes frequent eye contact with you, his face lights up when he sees you, puts you first all the time even ahead of himself, then most likely he likes you as more than a friend. And watch how he treats other girls. If he treats you differently and sort of in a more special way, that is a good sign.
