How to have read receipts for text messages (using an Iphone 4S)?
I want to know if someone I texted has read my text.
Is there a way to do this on an Iphone 4S?

Added (1). Also, the recipient of the text message does not have an Iphone. I believe he has a Samsung Galaxy.
Simply go to Setting / Messages and turn on the "Send Read Receipts" option.
In this case, no. Both parties need to be using iMessage, whether it be on an iPhone, iPad, iPod or iMac. It does not work for regular text messages.

I went into settings and turned it off, but they continue to appear. I also use iMessage on my laptop, but I have read receipts turned of on that as well. Does anyone know how I can stop these and have my iMessage just say delivered and not let people see when I read them?
