How to hide messages on my iPhone 4?

Basically, my mother goes on my phone to check I'm not doing anything i'm not supposed to, i'm not, but i hate her reading my text messages. So is there anyway i can hide them? I don't want to delete them, some messages are really important to me, sounds stupid but i like keeping them. Please try and help and give me ideas, I really want to hide them!

Put a key lock on like a password xx

There's no real way to hide messages without deleting them, but you could download an app where you can have a lockable folder for pictures (there's loads of free ones), take a screenshot of the message (press the home button and lock button at the same time) and put the screenshots in the lockable folder. With most apps they'll stay in that folder even if you delete the original picture.
It's the only way really.

I guess you can copy then and then put then in your Notes or something but I don't think you can actually hide them while keeping them in the Messages app. Sorry.

Well actually on nofication you can put show preview off on it so she won't see what the message is about. You shouldnt hide any messages from parents

There's many way to hide the messages…
1-Open Settings. Tap the Settings icon, usually located on the Home screen.
2-Adjust Notifications. In the Settings control panel, tap the Notifications button, then scroll down to the Notification Center section to locate Messages.
3-Locate and tap on Messages. You will open the Messages control panel.
4-Turn Notification Center off. At the top of the window, toggle the Notification Center button to "Off."
5-Set Alert Style to None. Tap the icon for "None" to keep those from appearing.
6-Turn off Badge App Icon. If you don't want the small red circle with the number of texts to be visible on the app, flip this toggle to "Off."
7-Set Alert Tones to None. This will prevent your phone from making alerting noises when texts come in.
8-Set Vibration to None. If you also want to eliminate the vibration alert, tap the Vibration button, then scroll to the bottom of the Vibration control panel, and tap "None."
9-Turn off Preview. In the Messages control panel, scroll down until you see "Show Preview," then tap the toggle switch to "Off."
10-Turn off View in Lock Screen. At the bottom of the Messages control panel, tap the toggle switch for "View in Lock Screen" to "Off"
Hope your text now hidden…

  • Will a screen protecter hide the scratches on my iphone? The front screen, the glass, has alot of small scratches all over the front and a crack from the bottom corner to the other side, will a screen protected make the scratches less noticeable? I'm not worried about the crack, it's hardly noticeable.
  • Where would you hide dirty pictures on your iPhone? So that probably sounds kinda bad. But I have some guy friends who were talking about them having secret places for their dirty pictures on their iPhone's and it got me thinking, where would you hide them? I have an iPhone also, and I have some things I would like to be kept secret, so people looking through my phone wouldn't find them. Please don't go though the whole "you're too young for that kind of thing," or any other long speech.
