How to make a group chat on iphone?

I have tried before but it only sends the message to them separately and their replies don't send to the other people in the chat.

I use iMessage for group chats. Click the compose icon at the top of the screen and start typing in friends names. Easy! But just warning you, my friends all use this chat and it annoys me so much. There's no way to actually get out of a group chat so I'm pretty much stuck with a bunch of chatter boxes.
