How to make a portrait video landscape?
Hi, I was making a video on my IPhone and I accidentally made it portrait instead of landscape. Is there anyway I can change it?
You can fake it, but you can't just rotate the video to fix it.
You need to crop or pad the video to "regular" landscape. Any editor should be able to do this for you, the commands of course will vary between software packages.
To "pad" a video means to use your vertical orientation footage, and add more pixels on both sides to fill out the horizontal frame. Similar to how you see SD video on an HD screen, with the vertical black bars on the sides.
Cropping means you would lose a large portion of the recorded image, but you can crop any section of the video to "normal" view. You can do it frame by frame if you want, but that would be extremely tedious, and very hard to watch.
The best option is to pad the video out to fill the screen properly.
- My iPhone 5s won't rotate, it has ios 8.01, and the portrait orientation is not turned on? I want to play a racing game and I need to be able to tilt the phone in order to steer the car, but that won't work either. Like i said i checked the button that locks the landscape mode, but it is not turned on. I have reset the phone numerous times and it still is not working, any help would be appreciated
- My iphone 5s won't go into portrait? It will be in portrait mode on the homescreen (obviously) but once i click on some app it will just flip into landscape and it won't change… It will then randomy flip over. Please help… This is very frustrating Hmm, didn't even think to turn it off then back on. I guess that works, Thanks!
- Is there an app to change my portrait video to landscape? I forgot to hold my phone sideways when I took a video on my iphone. Is there an app to change the orientation?
- Iphone - How do I make videos go in portrait mode? I have a video saved into my Iphone but how do I make it go into portrait mode/vertical. I mean my video is vertically filmed but I'm forced to watch it horizontally? I tried using the Assistive Touch thing to force it to go to the portrait mode but nothing happens. @?: I know, but it doesn't work. Restarting doesn't work either.
