How do I make iMessage on my Macbook Pro merge with my iPhone's phone number like it used to?
Added (1). When the Messages app first popped up on my Macbook, I could send and receive texts from my phone number while typing from my laptop. Now, it sends and receives from my iCloud account name and I'm having two separate conversations with the same person! I would like the texts I send from Messages to come from my phone number, not my iCloud email.
You forgot to tell what you have. My answer is for OS 10.10 or later, and iOS 8.1. No other systems will work with Mac Messages SMS.
In Messages, top menu bar, click the Messages menu > Preferences, remove the checkmark for the email.
- Your phone number is now being used for iMessage on a new iPhone? The texts i send from my macbook are going to my mom's phone. I checked the send&receive thing on her phone but it only has her number on it. Anyone know how to stop this?
- Thoughts on iPhone 11/11 Pro/Pro Max? I think it's amazing (especially after having an iPhone 8 previously) the best thing about it is the battery life.
- Rsim9 Pro issues can't select carrier. How to reset Rsim9 Pro? I'm trying to use Rsim9 pro to unlock my iphone 5 but i picked the wrong carrier. It won't take me back to the "select carrier" page. How do I reset the rsim9 Pro so I can see this page again?
- IPhone 5S and Macbook pro, or Android phone and windows laptop for college? So i have an iPhone 4S, and i want to try something different because i've had many problems with it. I've come to the conclusion that for college i should get apple or android for college. If i went for apple, it would be an iphone 5S, and a macbook pro. I don't have a clue about android or windows laptops, so if you could recommend phones and laptops.
