How to make my iPhone5 go into Vibrate Mode?

I recently got the new iPhone 5 but despite researching online and experimenting, I can't put my iPhone 5 in the Vibrate mode. I dislike loud alert noises so I always kept my old phone on Vibrate but I have no idea on how to do the same for my new phone.
How can you make it so that whenever there's a phone call, text, other notifications (alarms, etc.), my phone will only vibrate to alert me?
I don't want to be in the middle of my class and get my phone taken away because of the alert sounds but I don't want to make it "ALL SOUNDS OFF" mode either.

There's a vibrate switch on top of the volume button. Turn it to orange

Go to Settings, Sounds, and turn on Vibrate on Silent. That should enable your iPhone to vibrate when you get a text message when the switch on the left side of the phone is switched down.

There's a little switch above the volume buttons. Slide it to the left and it'll be on just vibrate.

In settings, everything is turned on, the vibrate part is selected. When the button (above the volume) is not on silent and then is flicked down to silent (vibrate) mode, it vibrates.   • My iphone 5 will only vibrate and not ring. Yes, the volume is all the way up. I checked. I went into settings and choose a ringtone? All this phone does is vibrate. Any ideas on what the problem can be. I have tried turning the power off and restarting the phone still only vibrates and does not ring. It worked.
