How to make the iphone headphones work right on my laptop?

They work fine on everything else besides my laptop although i haven't tried them on my desktop. But when i plug in the headphones all i hear is background music. The only way they will work is if i press the button on the headphones but i have to hold it. How can i fix this if it is even possible

Try using them on your desktop as well; I've used iPod earphones on my laptop and they worked perfectly fine. Also, try plugging other ear/headphones into your laptop to see if they give the same result. Check your volume (both on your laptop and Windows Media Player/Youtube or whatever you might be running) to be sure that everything is set up correctly.

If you try all the above and still experience this issue, the headphone port in your laptop might be experiencing issues.

  • Why can my iphone only play music with just the right bud/speaker on headphones? I've had the Iphone 4 for a bit now and recently i noticed that the left bud on one of my headphones don't work. I thought it was my headphones so i went out and bought a new pair. Only the right one works in those as well.   • IPhone doesn't play music right through headphones? So this morning if went on a walk with my music and all of a sudden out if nowhere the artist's voice just disappears. The usual music behind the singing is still playing but the volume of the singing drastically decreased. I can faintly hear it in the background and it's very echo-y. What can I do to fix this because It's really bothering me
