How to manually add songs to an iPhone on iTunes 11?

How can I do this song by song on the new iTunes? I know how to get the old left sidebar to reappear, but dragging and dropping songs onto my iPhone doesn't seem to work anymore. I know I could try and sync, but the problem is that most of my songs are in iCloud, so it would delete the ones that I've downloaded on my phone and replace it with the few that I've downloaded on my computer. Ideas?

Go to the top left corner, click the symbol
Press Menu Bar
Then View
Then press show sidebar
And there you go it looks like the old itunes

I had the same actual problem you are experiencing now. To get the drag and drop feature working once again, you'll have to re-enable the "manually manage music and video" checkbox found on the summary tab of your connected device. It's under options, just scroll down and you'll find it. Once you've done this you'll be able to drag and drop music and videos as well, just as before the update. Hope this helps.

  • Why can't I delete or add songs onto my iPhone through iTunes 11.0.4? I can delete songs directly off of my iPhone but even if they're deleted, iTunes still says they're on my iPhone. I also can't delete any songs off of OR add any songs onto my iPhone through iTunes. What is happening. I have fully updated both my iPhone and iTunes.
  • Need to add new songs to iphone without deleting old songs So my old computer crashed and with that i lost all my music that was downloaded to itunes, so i only have those songs saved to my iphone now i just spent $25 on my computer downloading music, but when i went to download it onto my phone it said it didn't match up with this computer and that in order to sync new songs it would delete my entire music library on my phone! I really don't want to lose all my music but i also want my new songs on my phone!
