How to move all of my stuff from a shared iTunes?

So my parents got me a Macbook Pro for my graduation back in June, and I want to move all my stuff from the family computer to my laptop easily so I can move my iPhone 5 to my laptop instead of having it connected to the family computer's iTunes. As far as I know I can't move purchased items like apps or videos, but I can move songs. I was just wondering does anyone have a simple method for a smooth transition with the stuff from the main computer to my laptop and my iPhone being synced with the main computer? If so it would be greatly appreciated. I've been holding this off since June when I got the computer and I haven't really had the patience to mess with the iTunes since I got my laptop, and I don't want to update my laptop so I get the new version of iTunes which I don't want. So if I could avoid doing that along with the transferring, that would be ideal. It's not a big deal if I do have to update it, but I'd just rather not.

Actually it is really easy, on a lot of things to change over. Good thing you are on a Mac. First you want to make sure you have the iTunes account that your music is on. Then get a drm removal program, all over the internet, make sure it is the Mac version. Then one by one you remove the DRM and save the music in a file. When you have finished simply get yourself your own iTunes account, dump all of your music into the iTunes that is yours. This will get rid of all the items that are not yours according to the computer and Apple. Sure it can take some time, but if you do 10 a day or even just one a day it won't take you very long to change your songs out.
… I'm not so sure why you wouldn't want to update to the latest iTunes, I have it and found nothing wrong with it, even if I like earlier version's format more. Anyway good luck and patience, always patience.

  • Will iTunes delete all of my stuff? I wanted to upload about 50 songs and ringtones onto my iPhone 4S just now, and when I click 'sync' a message comes up saying, "The iPhone is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?" I want to put my songs and tones on my phone, but I don't want to have my pictures, contacts, apps, etc.erased. Is this what is going to happen? Or will just my music ALREADY on my phone (about 3 songs) be erased?
  • Will 4GB shared data be enough for two iPhone 5's? I'm signing up with Verizon today and getting two iPhone 5's. On average, is 4GB shared data per month enough to compensate for both devices?
  • What is the easiest way to move all my iTunes content from my PC to a Mac? I'm getting a Mac soon and would like to know the easiest way to move all my PC iTunes' contents (Music, Photos + iPhone backups) to my new Mac. Is there anyway this can be done so I don't have to re-sync all my iDevices like new devices?
