How to mute music on iphone 4s?

I bought an iphone 4s and i was wondering if there was a way to make the music (not sound, just music) only be able to play with the headphones in?

  • IPhone 4 issues, sound, camera, mute button Are these common issues: 3 months ago I had no sound coming from the speakers which fixed its self. Occasionally my camera screen goes black and only works if I leave it for 30 mins. Now when I tap the side the mute switches on and off and goes crazy. Are these common faults or should I seek manufactures warranty as only had the phone for 5 months.
