How to not make it so the person calling me doesn't know I blocked them?

I own an iPhone. I'm a Pizza Delivery Driver and my boss is batshoot crazy. She keeps calling me when I'm on the road delivering pizza which of course it's dangerous and illegal to talk on the phone so I would block her.

Problem is, it's too obvious that I block her, because she would hear a ring once and it goes to voicemail. Because of this, she knows I blocked her so when I arrive at the store, she would scream my head off to not block her and that if I keep doing that, she's going to lower my hours because she needs to know where her drivers are.

It's not just her. Sometimes my mom will keep calling me when I'm driving as well or in the middle of the night, so there are times when I block her. But again, she knows because it goes to 1 ring and goes to voicemail instead of the usual 5 rings and goes to voicemail.

How can I make it so that the people calling me that I blocked, would hear 3 to 5 rings and then goes to voicemail so it's not so obvious.

There's no reason to block them. Just because your phone rings you DO NOT have to answer it! If you don't want to hear the phone ring turn it off or put it on silent.

Tell your boss and your mom you will not answer the phone when you are behind the wheel. Most states make driving while on the phone a violation and since you have to drive for a living it makes NO sense to risk getting cited for the violation.

Once you have made your delivery or have parked call them back.

Tell them that being on the phone while driving is now against the law. If caught not only will you get a ticket and a fine, your insurance will double. The are asking you to break the law.

Just set her ringtone to something obvious… Then don't answer

Just turn the phone off while you drive and check it later. If you get a citation for being on the phone while driving, they sure's hell are not going to pay it or erase the points against your license. They could buy you a hands-free jit if the need is sooo urgent to talk at any impulse. Leave the phone with a trusted person to take messages for you or just don't ever have it on you at work. If the employer doesn't pay for your phone it isn't their business what you do with it. Lock it in an ammo box in your locker. I'd hold the phone out the window and let them struggle to hear against the wind noise, then tell them later the phone is like that while driving. Cellphones make people stupid and your boss is some of the proof.

Just don't answer the phone if you're on the road while your boss is calling. She ought to know the road rules since she employed you to drive

If their number is blacklisted, they will just hear a tone but you won't. If they ask, say you lost your phone.

Just hit the mute switch on upper left. Or just say you shut your phone off at times, or that you don't take calls on the road when driving.

Turn the phone off whilst driving and have a voice message stating you are currently driving to a delivery and you will pick up messages when it is safe to do so and return their call - please leave you number and a short message.
