How to recover deleted photos? Iphone?

I was making free space in my phone by deleting some pictures and i accidently deleted something important.
i google ways to recover them; this one site said that i could get everything back by putting my ohone in recovery mode, when i did there was this message that said "if you continue with the recovery, everything currently on this phone will be erased" something like that, i can barely remember
so is there a way i can recover those photos WITHOUT updating my iPhone 5

If you backed up your phone you can hit restore from backup and it will make your phone the way it was the directly after your last back up! BACK UP OFTEN PEOPLE
