How to remove the condensation from my iphone 4?
Hi, I had my iphone 4 in the bathroom while I was in the bath listening to music, I left it on a damp towel not realising but didn't think anything of it, Anyways. I went to change the song with dry hands and my screen wouldn't scroll, or when I tried to turn it off it wouldn't let me scroll to turn it off either, then eventually it just cut out.
I didn't realise about the rice situation I could of done because I didn't know what was actually the matter.
I haven't got insurance on my iphone and the year's warranty has already ran out.
I took it to the three shop and they told me the cheaper option to get it fixed, so when I took it to the place they said, they told me to leave it over night and they'd fix it.
When I went back the next day they told me they couldn't do it, although they didn't tell me what they tried to do.
I then went back to the three shop and they said I could pay £270+ to pay the rest of my contract off and open a new one, use my sim in a different phone, pay £150 for apple to fix it, or take out a side by side contract, I didn't want to do either of them, as it's abit pricey for me.
So I went to a different place to see what they said and they said they could fix it for me but to bring it back a separate time, so the next day I put my phone in some rice and the rice went abit damp, then it said online to charge it for around a hour and it should work and it still hasn't, and i'm abit worried the man at the place won't be able to fix it either, if not WHAT SHALL I DO, IS THEY ANY OTHER WAYS I COULD SORT MY PHONE OUT?
can't possibly live without my phone any longer!
I once dropped my iPhone in a toilet without its Otter-box on it. This worked for me, so just try it and see if it has the same results for you.
1) Fill a Ziploc bag with dry rice (yeah, you read that correctly).
2) Stick your phone in the bag and be sure that the rice is evenly covering the iPhone.
3) Stick it in a drawer and leave it their for AT LEAST 30 hours with the phone and any accessories (cases, key-chains, etc.) off.
4) Carefully remove the iPhone from the bag full of rice and shake off any remaining rice on it.
5) Even if you see no wetness of the phone whatsoever, still take a paper towel and wipe your phone down.
6) Try turning it on. If your phone is like mine, it will come out dry and operating normally.
